Week 6 Update & Appt. Update

WEEK 6 LOSS = 4.6 Pounds
February 09 ~ Day 37 ~ -1.0 WooHoo!!! 30 Pounds Gone!!!
February 10 ~ Day 38 ~ -0.8
February 11 ~ Day 39 ~ -0.6
February 12 ~ Day 40 ~ -1.0
February 13 ~ Day 41 ~ -1.2
February 14 ~ Day 42 ~ -0.4
February 15 ~ Day 43 ~ +0.4

TOTAL LOST since 1/04/2010 = 33.6 Pounds
Week 5 Loss = 4.4
Week 4 Loss = 2.8

Week 3 Loss = 5.6
Week 2 Loss = 3.8
Week 1 Loss = 12.4

It was a rough week ~ my back has been really bad ~ still cannot completely shower or dress myself :o( Very frustrating!!!
My husband had to take time off of work last week to take care of me, and to help me care for Martha. Fortunately, my dear friend, Karen, has had work she could do from her laptop, and has been helping me out this week.

Last week's ovary appt. was bombed by a C-Section, but was able to get in yesterday. A laparoscomy is recommended ~ I was SO ready to have that done, and figure out what is going on, however, an answer to a question changed that ~ I asked if they could just do local anesthetic instead of knocking me out ~ The answer was "No." :o( Apparently they have to fill your abdominal cavity up with some kind of air/gas, and then they tilt you, so that everything shifts around ~ this all enables them to see things better and move things around if need be ~

Possiblity of what is called "ovary drilling" done ~ they used to actually take out a section of the ovary (YIKES!), but now they do this drilling thing . . . it's actually done to/around some of the follicles because of some of the cells around them (something to that affect anyway!). They could also possibly check to see if there are any blocked tubes, which would be a plus to know!

I just really have an issue with anesthesia, and I DON'T want to be knocked out! Just do everything while I'm awake! LOL Seriously!
Anyhow, she said I could try acupuncture to see if that would help, so I will try out this option before having the laparoscopy done ~ I figure I've made it this far, I can make it a bit farther! The pain is mostly bearable, so I can hang in there!

Losses so far are not so great, but with everything that's going on with my body I don't really know what to expect ~ hoping to at least still be losing inches, if not pounds ~ the protocol IS "Pounds & Inches," after all! :o)

I did pretty well for Valentines Day ~ ate Phase 3 foods, and only gained a little ~ Almonds, Cheese, Chicken, Frittata, Gluten-Free/Low Carb waffles, and some whipping cream (which had just a bit of sugar). Made some Coconut Bark with Orange extract ~ got a little bit too much chocolate in it, so it tastes like orange dark chocolate ~ I am not a dark chocolate fan, but this is actually pretty good!

WEEK 5 UPDATE

WEEK 5 LOSS = 4.4 Pounds (kinda makes up for last week's 2.8! LOL)
February 2 ~ Day 30 ~ -0.6
February 3 ~ Day 31 ~ -1.0
February 4 ~ Day 32 ~ -0.4
February 5 ~ Day 33 ~ -0.0
February 6 ~ Day 34 ~ -1.0
February 7 ~ Day 35 ~ -1.2
February 8 ~ Day 36 ~ -0.2

TOTAL LOST since 1/04/2010 = 29 Pounds (almost 25% to my goal!)
Week 4 Loss = 2.8
Week 3 Loss = 5.6
Week 2 Loss = 3.8
Week 1 Loss = 12.4

This was really a pretty good week! I can certainly not complain about being down 4.4! This week and last week combined brings to average losses for the two weeks :o)
When I reach a 30.35 pound loss, I will be 25% of the way to my goal ~ Should reach that this week, and I'll be celebrating! :o)

I have had some much needed pain relief from the ovary stuff going on, am SO thankful for that!!! Go back to the Dr. in a couple of days, and we'll see where to go from there ~

My husband is even thinking about doing this protocol, but I tell him he has to wait for me to catch up to him! LOL He doesn't have that much to lose, and I have a way's to go :o( SO frustrating that men lose better than us, even on THIS protocol! LOL A guy on an HCG forum lost like 39.5 in 32 days ~ Hmph! And I thought my 26.6 was good!!! Well, it really is ;o) ~ guys are just more blessed in this area! God must have His reasons!!!

Finished the back of a quilt for a cousin's baby this weekend, and will be attempting to quilt it all together sometime soon ~ this past summer I got a quilt frame that uses your own sewing machine to quilt ~ still have to make cloth leaders ~ should be interesting!
Perhaps I should practice on something before I work on the actual quilt!

Lt. Knee ~ 3/4

Sooo . . . not a great week loss-wise, but have had alot going on health-wise and with my PCOS ~
Will be going back to the Doc on the 10th ~
TOM finally showed up ~
Also had laser treatment this week, with swelling, and not sure how the numbing cream affected losses, either.
Experimented with some spaghetti sauce this week, but it threw my electrolites off, I think,so if I want "spaghetti" sauce on Phase 2, I will measure the meat and tomato sauce separately and then mix them . . .
A lot of factors involved in slow losses this past week, so it's all good :o)
Hoping it will pick back up this week ~

I'm pretty happy with my inches lost! Was hoping for more, but this is good ~
Was hoping to still see nice inches lost, since I am "tweaking" Dr. S's protocol ~ happy to see it's still working! :o)

Pain is back in my right ovary ~ will likely have another ultrasound and possibly laparoscopic surgery to find out what's going on in there . . . not sure what affect that will have on protocol results.

After the spaghetti sauce incident, I have stuck pretty close to the protocol ~ Did have a bit of guacamole last night, but that should be fine :o)

WEEK 3 Update!!!

WEEK 3 LOSS = 5.6 Pounds
WEEK 2 LOSS = 3.8 Pounds
WEEK 1 LOSS = 12.4 Pounds

Total Loss Since January 4, 2010 = 21.8 Pounds

January 19 ~ Day 16 ~ -1.0
January 20 ~ Day 17 ~ -0.2
January 21 ~ Day 18 ~ -0.4
January 22 ~ Day 19 ~ -1.2
January 23 ~ Day 20 ~ -0.6
January 24 ~ Day 21 ~ -2.0 WooHoo!!! :o)
January 25 ~ Day 22 ~ -0.2

Did well this past week!
Yesterday, had a day of experimenting with another "off-protocol" food ~
Made Cleochatra's Best Ever Revol-Oopsie Rolls, and ate FOUR of them throughout the day!!! These are technically a Phase 3 food, however, with experimenting this round, I am throwing some of that in! LOL
Have also continued having a small amount of Bawdy's Protein Bars, which are also, technically, for Phase 3 ~

I've learned a bit more about vitamin D3 + K2, and the important role it plays in mood, 36 organs, and possibly weight ~

Apparently 97% of Americans are deficient in vitamin D3 (it's absorbed better with K2), with the ideal blood level really being 50, rather than the previously thought level of 30!
We just are just not a society that is outdoors enough with enough skin exposure for our bodies to make enough of the vitamin that we need.

I have begun taking 5,000iu of vitamin D3 + K2 this past week, and suspect it MAY have helped me have better losses ~

2010: New Year ~ New Beginnings

So . . . I started the protocol January 4, 2010, and will post weekly updates:
01/11/2010 ~ WEEK ONE LOSS = 12.4 Pounds (this large of a loss is completely normal for the first week on this protocol)
01/18/2010 ~ WEEK TWO LOSS = 3.8 Pounds
TOTAL LOST IN 14 DAYS = 16.2 Pounds

I will eventually post inches lost, but have not determined a time frame for those ~ perhaps every 2 or 4 weeks . . .

I have struggled with weight basically my whole life, with none of my efforts paying off with successful weight-loss ~

That started to change when I read Kevin Trudeau's book "The Weight-loss Cure They Don't Want You To Know About," in which he brought to light a protocol researched by Dr. Simeon many decades ago called "Pounds & Inches." I got no help from my Dr. in getting supplies, and by chance (ha! I think not!) came across a clinic who helped people with this protocol!
I was overjoyed, and the start-up appt. and supplies were a birthday gift from my hubby ~ YAY!!! From August 2008 to May 2009 I lost 109 pounds!!! Yes, this is for real folks!

Unfortunately I did not follow the transition phase in the protocol, and promptly put back on 25 pounds in the first 8 days after I stopped using HCG and following the VLCD. And the pounds just kept coming back on afterwards to a total of about 90 back on :o( So . . . here I am on this journey once again! Admittedly it's not as much fun as the first time, but I KNOW it works, and I will be successful in follow-through!!!

I also have PCOS (polycystic ovary syndrome) and insulin resistance (aka hyperinsulinemia, syndrome x, metabolic syndrom ~ whatever you want to call it! LOL), which makes my body very sensitive to carbohydrates ~ for instance, I've said many times that I could LOOK at food and gain weight ~ come to find out that for some, this is a reality, myself included! :o(

I am determined to have a successful transition period this time whether or not I reach my goal weight. I have 121 pounds to go to get to that point! However, I KNOW it can be done and I know that I can do it! I have begun putting together some Low-Carb recipes, so I will be prepared when I am done with the HCG protocol.

A note for any reading this and are strictly following Dr. Simeon's protocol, please note that I am experimenting with this, and so far am having good results!!!
I chose to have an "off" day with my husband yesterday, but stuck pretty close to what I've been doing.
The "off" things I had yesterday:
Protein bar, that I had made, at the movie theater (went to see the Blind Side ~ AWESOME movie!!! two thumbs up)
A very LATE dinner which was chicken and broccoli with a low carb Alfredo sauce that I made ~ yummo!!!
And then I had three peanut butter bonbons
So . . . being up .4 really isn't too bad at all!!!
Today am doing a Phase 2 egg day, so hopefully tomorrow will be back on track! :o)

I will also note that I am taking two herbal tinctures:
Drops of Skinny (hypothalamus support)
Ultimate Pituitary (pituitary support, which also supports the thyroid)
